Adjusting Star Screw good ir bad?

I'm in need of some advice on adjusting the star screw. Removed the fuel plate earlier and can definitely see a difference! Read about adjusting the star screw in Diesel Power Mag and want to know if it's good idea or bad!!

What mods do you have?

Adjust it forward to make fuel come on harder with boost, rearward for less fuel with boost, just play with it till you get the smoke down to a haze.
