ok so i tried to adjust my steering gear box i know the first time i adjusted to much but when i was driving down the road the steering wheel still had like a inch of play in the center, the truck was very hard to steer so i went back and readjusted it back close to were it was to start, it started raining today so monday i try again. It may be time for a new gear box does any one know about what they cost.

A reman is @ 150 or so, and once you go to tight you usually can't back it off in my experience.

second gens they have an after market gear box that is alot better then the stock one.

I had a PSC and it sucked. 3 boxes bad straight out of the box. Their customer service was nice but I got tired of swapping their boxes out.

i would just rebuild the stock box you got. thats all psc and agr do. just a side note, i've found that most of the slop on the second gens steering comes from crappy track bar and or flex/deflection on the sector shaft in the steering box and flex on the frame were the box is mounted. i would upgrade the track bar to an adjustable 3rd gen type and get a steering box brace. just my 0.02

ok this is the problem i got i have about an inch or two of play at dead center of steering while driving down the road i have now got the steering box adjusted the tightness that i would like not to hard to turn steering wheel that i got last time but still have the play the guy at the front end shop said all my steering was good i could just be frame flex. IS there a way to check for this without buying a bd stabilzer or another brand
