For those of us who don't have a pulse, is it possible to see what the settings are for the 3000 tune if you do have one?

The custom tune options are

Levels...............................Set to 11 for PL00 to PL10
Boost Scaling.................Set to ___ and I'm guessing shifts the timing/fueling scale compared to boost
Timing..............................Set to ___ above stock
Timing Scale..................Set to ___ and again, guessing that shifts the timing, but based on what?
Max Pump Stretch........Set to 1800, but what does this number mean?
TPS Pump Max..............Set to ___, TPS % for full fueling
TPS Pump Min...............Set to ___, TPS % to start fueling
TPS CAN Max.................Set to ___, TPS % for full CAN fueling
TPS CAN Min..................Set to ___, TPS % to start CAN fueling

ive got the 3000, torq tune, and i believe comp tune saved in mine right now. as soon as i get out of school here in about an hour, i'll run out and see what the parameters are set at.

took this off of another site, should help out with custom tuning part
Ok, I am going to give a rundown about how each tuning parameter works. I am going to do my best to explain this in plain english.

To start with, the test file I sent you is pretty mild but, can be made into the COMP file really easily. For the most part the actual fuel maps are the same across the board. Yes, there are a few different ones out there and when we actually go live with custom tuning we will also have more downloads that offer nothing more than map changes.

Pump Stretch.

This will make the biggest difference in overall power and smoke. This is the amount of time the injector is actually opened and spraying fuel into the cylinder. I have this set pretty low on the 1000 tune that I sent you. The COMP file is set to 1800. More than 1800 creates more torque and a lot more smoke but, actually makes less power on the upper end based on all the trucks I have had on the dyno. This is where the COMP file is set to. Feel free to run it to 2400 anytime you want lots of low end power and smoke but, realize you are giving power up on the top.

This does not mean you will get this amount of fuel all the time. There is a map, in percentages based off of this number as the maximum. Beyond that the map is also scaled by the TPS. So even if the map commands 100% but, you are at 50% throttle you will be getting 50% of the max stretch. If the map calls for 25% and you are at 50% TPS you will be getting 12.5% of the max stretch.

TPS MIN. For both CAN and Pump fueling.

This allows you to make the throttle lighter or more responsive. Basically it gives you a fudge factor that allows you to get a minimum amount of the max fuel stretch all the time. If you set this to 10% you will never get less than 10% of the fuel map. So if the map calls for 100% (1800) but, you are at 5% throttle you would normally get 5% of the map. If you set this parameter to 10% you will get 10% even though the mapping algorithm calls for 5%.

You have to be somewhat careful with this or you will be fueling way too much at light throttle. This is set to 0% on the tune I sent out.

TPS MAX. Both CAN and Pump Stretch.

This allows you to determine what throttle position you will see max fueling at. It also re-scales the entire map based on what you select. This is set to 100% on tunes I sent out. This means that you will not get 100% of the map unless you are at 100% TPS. If you set this at 80% TPS that means you will get 100% of the fueling at 80% TPS. It also means that 80%=100% and the map is scaled between 0% and 80% but, on a 0-100 scale. In other words the map moves in increments of .8% instead of 1%.

This can be really useful for those that drive light but, want power on tap earlier in the pedal but, not necessarily right off idle.

Timing MAX

Sort of goes without saying. 0 means we do not add any timing. 10deg means if the map calls for 100% you will get 10deg added over stock.

I never go over 7.5%. In my opinion that is more than plenty. If you are going for only mileage and are going to be easy you can use 10 deg and it should be great for mileage. The problem is that under much boost it could easily cause headgasket damage.

Boost Scaling.

This function is more of a smoothing function of the map. There are 20 positions that this function controls. Think of it at columns. Until boost equals a certain amount, then it is in a certain column. It takes more or less boost to move to different columns.

So if you set this to 20, then each column is changed by 1psi. If you scale it to 40psi then every 2psi it changes.

While this can make things more or less responsive or smooth it out slightly it does not make huge differences because not necessarily every column is more or less aggressive than the next. There have been maps in the past and there will be maps in the future where they will be more boost reliant. For now we do not rely on boost that much other than as this scaling function.

The custom tune options are

Levels...............................Set to 11 for PL00 to PL10
Boost Scaling.................Set to _38__ and I'm guessing shifts the timing/fueling scale compared to boost....correct
Timing..............................Set to _8__ above stock
Timing Scale..................Set to _100__ and again, guessing that shifts the timing, but based on what?....based on load, map, iat and rpm......couldn't get a straight answer from quad.
Max Pump Stretch........Set to 1800, but what does this number mean?
TPS Pump Max..............Set to _100__, TPS % for full fueling via the pump tap
TPS Pump Min...............Set to _30__, TPS % to start fueling via the pump tap
TPS CAN Max.................Set to _100__, TPS % for full CAN fueling
TPS CAN Min..................Set to _30__, TPS % to start CAN fueling

This is just based on memory on when I would constantly change tunes and view!

The comp tune, dyno, and torque tune are nothing more than tps changes....

Comp tune start to come in @ 20 and max is set to 80
Dyno tunes starts @ 0 and max is set to 70 with both these tunes consisting of a 2200 stretch

The torque tune is the same as the dyno tune but has a 2400 stretch!

Again.....this is based on remembrance and in order for me to find out I have to download each tune and reconnect to the pulse to see the parameters......if I had a laptop I would do it but I don't......sorry!!

thats what were talking about!

so basically with the 3000 tune as soon as you touch the throttle its at 30% of the map? and if i could get that to 0% it would cut down on low end fueling?

Actually the way quad has it stated above is the not the way it fuels. Your thinking on how the MIN works is correct with what is stated above but all the MIN does is set the minimum TPS % to start the actually fueling. So at 30% is when you actually start to fuel!

ok thats what I origanally thought. Then I'm prolly looking to up that number to 60%

correct and unless you have the pulse you won't be able to unless you can get quad to send you a custom tune! I have mine at 45 and it seems to work real well!!

im basically trying to justify if the pulse is worth it to me. I love the power of the 3000 tune, it just has WAY WAY WAY too much fuel down low for my set up.

do you know the specs of the 1000 and 2000 tunes?

1000 tune has a 1400 stretch and 30 - 100 tps set.

2000 tune has a 1600 stretch and the same tps set as 1000.

boost scale, timing and timing scale the same on all the tunes 1000-torque?

on the boost and timing scale, what does what, more boost means fuels later?

boost, timing and timing scale are the same on the 1000 through 3000 tune. 38/8/100.

The beta tunes not including the 3000 start to change up.....quad likes to stick with 8* and usually keeps the scale at 100.

Boost scale is explained above.....the lower the scale the more responsive it can get so say you turn your MINs up and lower your scale....it will fuel a "little" more aggresively on the bottom but won't start in fuel until your MIN TPS is reached. I am not for certain on the timing scale but the way I understood it is if you drop it such as to 80 or 70 it scales it in increments of .80 or .70 vs 1? You get more timing lower vs keeping it at 1:1......make any sense?

If you have a iphone or itouch I would honestly wait until Feb 10 to make use of the iquad......that thing is going to be nice!! The pulse sucks!!

I was told by Quad to set the TPS pump and Can set at 30% for the surging. I had it real bad and still do surge but not quite as much.

So does this look right?

Code:
[B]Tune 1000	2000	3000	COMP	DYNO	TORQUE[/B]
