adrenaline aint workin on my 01!

hey guys... i just put my new adrenaline in my truck. and i dont have any power gains.... but the guages and pod work. i got everything hooked up but the fuel pressure gauge. you dont have to have that for it to work right? and i had a xzt in it that worked that had to plug into the map and data link... so has anyone else had this problem? or got some suggestions on what new to try?
 
you dont need the fuel pressure gauge. Are you sure you have the correct wire tapped on the vp44? Can you change power levels?
 
ya the pod changes to the different power levels... but no gains... and ya im sure, the picture and discription is the one i tapped. the top one closest to the engine block is the right one right? thats what the book said. i called throughbred cuz i didnt have quadzilla number. and the guy there said he thought my lift pump was not puttin out enough psi so it might not be "foolin" it< his words. but my smarty i had worked fine... so i dont think its the lift pump... quadzilla sent me two taps... is it cuz they dont always work right?
 
it should do something. Put a pressure gauge on it truck should have a schrader valve on either the pump or back of filter housing. and take a multi meter and check you connection at the vp44 black to battery negative red to the t tap and see if you have 12 volts key on engine off
 
ya did that this morning at work and i got it workin. but it aint dumpin smoke like my smarty did.... is the vp44 starving for fuel you think? or does it just not smoke alot? i got a air dog on the way right now so i've been runnin it on 1 till i get some advice so i dont burn the pump out. what do you think?
 
put the comp tune or the torque tune on it, it'll smoke, it will also smoke your trans/clutch too if its stock
 
it aint stock, its got a dual disc. im not a newbie that just wants smoke. i was just wonderin what yours did.
 
Unless you are on setting 3 or above the wire tap does not come into play. 1 and 2 are timing only IIRC.
