I was wondering if I bought an ADR used from somebody would Quad still warrenty it for me, if it burned up or something like some have? Or if you bought one does it have to be from Quad for the warrenty? Just wondering, would like to get a cheaper used one...

Be careful who you buy from. IMO if you buy used ask them for the SN and then call Quad and make sure it is a kosher module. Alot of beta guys are trying to sell screwed up boxes and Quad is not helping when those beta boxes go south. You should really ask Quad what they will warranty.

they will warranty electronics fror life to the original owner. they're good guys though i'm sure they'll work w/ you.

Thanks for that, looks like I'm good. But why is that??? I mean what difference does it make where you get it from its still Quads product. Obviously those places must get their boxs from Quad so what gives? I don't get it, but I guess its not my problem.

Those places get the boxes at a warehouse for pennies & sell them so cheap that authorized dealers lose a sale. Quad has a set price which dealers must sell at & he sticks to it. Most manufacturers do this.

How could ppl be buying from someone other than Quad????

Or is there something I'm missing here?

There are major distributors who buy in bulk [can't mention names ofcourse] & could supply these smaller companies with products at a fraction of the cost. These small company guys just care about making $100-$200 on a sale. If they pay the big dog $200 per box, they sell them for $400 & they are happy. This takes money from the pockets of authorized dealers who are selling the product at retail value & that is why these authorized dealers will sometimes drop a manufacturer....if of course the manufacturer isn't protecting their product. Quad isn't the only one doing this, most companies do it & that is why when you call for a failure claim, they ask if you have a reciept from when you bought the product. Edge did this when I called them to get a Drag upgrade.

Also Quad doesnt want their product to look like some cheap peice of trash either. Support your local performance shop and find a good deal through an authorized dealer at a not so cut rate price.

you are correct, however these guys that are buying them from pmere are only making probably $50 bucks on each unit. but that doesn't matter to them b/c they have no overhead and no people to pay. they just sit back and wait for the orders to come in and then they forward them to the "warehouse" and they get sent from places like Tenn and Indiana, when the company selling the parts is from texas. check the labels and you'll be able to tell how many companies out there drop ship all their parts and don't stock them. there are only a few guys out there that actually buy direct from Quad.

Just make sure you buy from an Authorized Dealer.

I ordered my ADR from an UNauthorized dealer about 1/2 hour before I noticed the list on Quads page. I called them immediatly after I saw the list and told them about my situation. They told me to send in my warrantee card anyways and if I had any problems to send the product directly to them instead of the vendor... My ADR has since melted (early unit), and a new brand new module is in the mail as of yesterday. Those guys (Quadzilla) are excellent help, and deffenetly stand behind there product.
