I have my 98 24valve completely removed outta the truck. I am in the process of gutting the thing down light as possible and making it as fast as possible. I have done pretty much all the bolt ons, but I wanna run high 10s low 11s on a vp pump. Before you pipe up and say p-pump it, that's not the point, I would have put a common rail engine otherwise. Here is my game plan...

New rotating assembly (balanced as an assembly and stroked if there is a kit out there)
Machined block with a common rail head (not sure how this is done, but the local diesel guy advised this)
My buddy who owns the machine shop that is doing the build wants to cement the lower coolant passages in the block (again not sure about this)
Electric water pump (for higher rpm to be used with redline box)
Monster VP44 with lines and injectors (finding where to get one has been a mystery, I would like to get 2 in case the first one dies)
I have a hamilton big stick cam, but I wanna go bigger. (fly cut pistons??)
Also not sure if I need a different cam for the common rail head (if this even works)
I have S300/S400 twins, but I want to go bigger...(not sure what's out there)
Custom intake manifold

If anyone has ideas I would like to hear, I am open to suggestions as it will be another 2 months or so before I start (need to finish my other 2 cars)

I am not worried about the budget...and no this is will not be a daily driver!

The CR head has been done many times over. Alot of different combo's have been done. Use the search option on here. You can find out alot of info by using it.

Definately do some research on here. I have found tons of info on many of the questions I have had.

When I start on the project I will post it on here as the parts start coming in. I will go and take some pics of the truck tomorrow. The old head is scrap, so that was where the common rail head came into play. I am intrigued on what will come from this lots of ideas, but no idea how to execute most of them or where to get the parts made. Anyways looking forward to getting started and wrapping up the T-bird and camaro builds.

Is there a way to get in touch with the Monster pump guy?? The website doesn't seem to be working. Still havn't gotten around to taking pictures yet, been having computer problems.

We got all the machining equipment hooked up today. Now we can line bore, overbore, grind cranks, whatever needs doing. I kinda wish I lived down south where there are a few diesel trucks out there to talk with. Up here I am in a world alone. I only ever seen one other diesel truck racing before. Malcom's from Harbour City diesel in Nanaimo is the only other guy I know who runs a diesel. I should be back in the shop with the new computer today to take some pics of what we got goin on....
