Well im trying to get everything tuned and need a little help. While tuning tranny i noticed that only on wot that i could stay on top of the turbos. If i gently eased into it, it would smoke everything out and slowly slowly make boost. I know i have a boost leak right know but this is kind of nuts how much smoke im making.

Im sorry if this is ruff to read. This is my first crack at doing this. Any and all help will be appreciated. Egt's are going nuts.

One other thing is there anyone else running a he351 as the little turbo? Its electronically wastgated and i just dont trust it. Is there some other rout i could go? I was possible thinking about a 44mm external wastgate welded into the manifold. If i do that i can take the wastgate off the he351?

Yet again im sorry if this is ruff to read, im just doing the best with what i know.

if you know you have a boost leak........ don't post back in the thread until you fix it (/motherly advice)

Keyance, i could be wrong in the spelling. I did a little more research and found a thread were they are using a spring to control the wastgate, and i believe that's what im going to do. Im pretty shore my wastgate is not opening know, hence the reason for high egt, low boost, and lots of smoke.

yes, boost is 'compounded' ....and it still has to flow past the secondary's turbine regardless (i.e. pressure buildup)

Sry if these sound like stupid questions. Just trying to get things figured out. Right know the only way for me to stay on top of the turbos is at wot. I know about the boost leak, is there anything else i should look at it? This is roachies old set up and he would pin a 60lb boost gauge.

Is your TC (shall speed) in the 4R100 built for a 12v?

Just curious were you are going with this? It is a dual disk TC not to much different from stock in the stall speed. As for a 4r100 built for a 12v i dont know what your trying to say. My 4r100 was built for a diesel and im pretty shore the stock 7.3 puts out more power then a stock 12v 'i could be wrong'. Also im running a pcs so i can adjust everything.

^^^^ regardless of Power levels, they might be stalled different for the power stroke vs cummins.... Something to think about

seriously, don't touch anything else until you fix the boost leak. it skews everything, even a small one.

Fix the boost leak first. If you have not ported the 351's waste gate do so,this helped mine a lot.I installed a 180hp gv spring in my AFC and helped also. The boost between my turbos is 1.0-2 ratio right now,I guess I said that right. In other words primary is making 30 psi and the secondary is 60 psi. But,like the others are saying fix the dang boost leak/s first:poke::doh:

A 7.3 is not going to make the TQ your 12v will.. The PCS can't change your shall speed just shifts and lock up.

Fix your boost and move to the next problem good luck man!

Thanks!
