At what point should one consider rod bolts/main studs by A1/ARP for the bottom end of a Cummins?

I was going to just run new Cummins bolts, but I've priced the ARP/A1 stuff but was curious when it is necessary.

ive got 14mm mains and 12mm head both ARP...woulnd't chance it.....give ^ a call . ;)

I would use ARP main studs in any engine rebuild . The repeatable clamping loads are a big plus. the rod bolts are not made for a reason, the factory Cummins rod bolts are really good bolts

I agree with what the other Comp. Diesel Members have already told you.
If you are considering any type of major rebuild, spend the money and install either the 12 or 14mm studs. Like "9 Lives" I have the 14mm studs in my Cummins 12 valve engine along with the firerings.
