Air dam question

My dad wants to lower the air dam on his dodge to see if fuel mileage will increase, what do you guys suggest ,he wants something about two to three inches off the ground to see if it makes a big difference in mileage, looking for the type of material and possibly how to ,also he's an old guy so its on the cheap, if it works he would spend a fortune to make it look nice, Thanks Larry
 
If it does work, it won't, the first time the suspension travels it'll rip it off. Do something to lower the truck and see if it helps the Drag Coefficient. If lowering the truck works... bag all 4 corners and it'll still 'work' like a truck and yeild better MPG on the hwy. Slammed or lifted his MPG won't make much difference under 40mph.
