I put a air dog 2 on my 2000 ram 2500 last year and have had nothing but problems with it keeps loosing fuel pressure I called air dog and they won't help at all with it I'm so sick of this pump I'm looking at going to a gear driven pump now any buddy know of a good pump to go with

What have you done as far as tests so far?

Check for suction leaks, clogs on suction side, dead head pressure, regulator adjustments?

We checked all the fuel lines for any blockage they were all good took the pump off the truck and pumped fuel from a pail it seem to work fine put it back on the truck set the pressure drove it around for a bit the pressure stayed good took it out later that night had it set at 18 psi then it just dropped to 3 psi and have never got the pressure back I can adjust it but all I get now is 5 psi out of it

Did you drop the fuel tank and check it for contamination? If chit in the tank plugged the filters you will need to change the filters.

I had a Fass quit pumping. I had to take it apart and clean the motor, mainly where the contacts are on bottom of the motor. It ran fine afterwards.

Have you tried putting it back in the bucket to see if the pressure comes back up?

Have you made sure there aren't any clogs in the fuel filter or water separator. Had a guy send a pump back once b/c of the same thing and there was debris on top of the filter that wasn't letting the fuel in.

If those things check out ok give us a call and we'll see what we can do about getting you another pump.

Make shore they send you the right pump to . My motor burnt up after a month. They were very nice an sent one out right away.

Ok I just put new filters on it and the psi didn't come up at all is there any thing else I can try to test it

ya i,m getting lots of fuel on the return side this pump is about a year old and air dog i had on it before is about three years old my first on not a 2 but it did the same thing i still have it what happend to that one was the spring behind the check ball broke and it lost all its pressure

sounds like your return check valve is no bueno. simpe bango check valve thats on the vp. if that goes out, you send 95% of your fuel back to the tank. but what bothers me is if you took the pump back off and did the bucket test and the psi was still only 5psi? take the bottom plate off the pump and make sure there is no dubris in the gear of the pump. i had this happen to me when i put my sump in. a small piece of my plastic tank got in the pump gear and basically jammed it up. took the plate off, got the plastic out of the pump, put it back in and havent had a problem in over 25k miles.
