Airdog and Edge problems. Any help would be appreciated

I installed the Edge juice/attitude programmer and it has a split personality. When it works, it works awesome and puts a smile on my face that can't be erased. When it is 'throwing a tantrum' it has the following symptoms:
1) Truck will not shut off with the ignition key
2) Boost gauge always reads 0 psi
3) Truck has decreased power, have to have it on setting 5 to get stock like power.

If you have installed an Edge juice you know that it is a simple install and I have checked all connections and it is correct. I had my local shop verify this. When the truck will not shut off, and I have tried tapping brakes and throttle, I pull the turbo timer wire off the fuse tap and it kills engine but then the attitude does not shut off and it 'alarms' me that I have no fuel pressure, no crap the truck is off. The only way I can shut off the attitude is to disconnect the box under the hood. I told my local shop about this and called Edge tech and they both recommended replacing the box and attitude. I did this with the same results. Edge tech has no clue what is wrong and said to replace the Edge wiring harness and if that doesn't work it is something wrong with my truck, not the Edge. Any ideas guys?

I ended up getting an Airdog 150, and it is disasterous as well. When the tank is full down to half full the system works flawlessly, 15-20 psi at all times. As soon as I hit half tank, a hard corner or aggressive launch will make it directly go to 0 psi for up to 3 seconds until it recovers. I assume this is because fuel is sloshing away from the pickup. But I installed it as reccomended, cutting the pickup so it is 1/4" from the bottom of the tank. I hope this isn't normal and the way it is supposed to work. I plan on dropping the tank to check the pickup, but dropping a tank that is at least half full isn't my idea of a good time, so I figured I would see if you guys have any ideas as to what may be causing my problems otherwise. Please chime in if you have ideas.

for the edge it does sound like the harness is the culprit, especially if you've replaced the module already.

as for the airdog, i'd say instead of cutting it 1/4" from the bottom, cust notches in the bottom an put almost against the bottom of the tank. i've never heard it hapening when still 1/2 tank in there though.

How much of the pick up tube did you cut off?

I believe it was around 1". I inserted it into the grommet and verified the 1/4" clearance before putting the tank back under. I'm pretty sure it is a pickup issue though given the 1/2 tank or less symptoms.

I'm going to switch the Edge harness tonight, hopefully that fixes it because I am leaving for 2 weeks vacation at midnight, and I'm taking the truck.

Well if you tube is a 1/4 from the bottom and your cut is an inch high. You picking up fuel 1 1/4 from the bottom which is to much. I would suggest having the tube touching the bottom and cutting only a 1/4 slash in it. Or you may leave it flat and cut about 3 small triangles out of the bottom. You want the highest point of any cut no more than 1/4-3/8 inch from the bottom. Let me know any other questions you may have. 1lowdiesel had done plenty of these and will have good advice also as he previously stated before.

If you cut the tube flat across it could be sucking up to the tank bottom. Seen that before, when you drop the tank make certain it is either slash cut or notched, notched being preferable.

I got back from vacation last night. Switching out the harness cured the Edge problems. As far as the Airdog, when I cut 1 inch off the tube it was to get it 1/4" off the bottom of the tank. With it installed I cannot get my pinky finger in between the bottom of the tube and the tank. I installed it at the front of the tank like the Airdog pictures. Thinking about moving it to the rear or ordering a new tube and notching it.

If you don't mind yanking the tank again, try a slight slash cut or notching the one you have, I'm willing to bet you are having a problem with the pickup tube not able to get enough fuel.

Billysgoat, I see where you're going with this one now. When the fuel sloshes rearward or sideways the tank unloads itself at the pickup enough to seal off the flat tube with the flat bottom of the tank?

At half full I should still have 17 gallons in there, so even if there was fuel still around the pickup it cannot be drawn through the "capped" pickup.

It would be best to have the tube 1/8th inch off the bottom with an 1/8th inch tall slash in the tube so you are still picking fuel up from a 1/4 inch off the bottom.

Got it in a nutshell, the systems like the FASS and Airdog can pull so much fuel they will suck the tank bottom up to the pickup tube.
