While doing a few other things to my 95, :hehe:, I'm also swapping the 47rh for a nv4500 from a 2000...

I read a few threads and have a couple questions and concerns about my swap.

Will I have trouble getting the 4wd to work with this transfer case?

Also read something about the speedo not working?

Also looking for any suggestions or other issues I may run into that I'm not aware of....

Thanks for any help. Really looking forward to getting this started and done soon... :thankyou2:

Bumping this back up.. I need some answers FAST!! Going to do the swap in the morning.

Nv4500 is out of a 2000, my 47rh is from my 95.

What can he use from my truck electronics That I CAN SPARE?

He will need a standalone to run my auto correct???

I've searched and am searching. Just looking for a clear answer.

Thanks
Frank

all he needs to run the auto is two switches, one for lockup and one for overdrive. you need to keep your computer so your alt charges.

Your 4wd should work fine IF your input shaft on the transfer case is matched to the output on the manual. They are different spline counts. I'm also doing a swap on mine but I was lucky to have the 95 manual to swap. Just change your speedo and make it work too. I had a newer transfer case in my 95 and shifting it on it worked fine. Hope te helps ya a little.

We're swapping everything from the bell housing back

98 and newer have the speedometer sensor in the rear end and nothing in the transmission or transfer case. So you'll either need to use your transfer case (maybe just the tail housing?) or find another way to get the speed sensor reading.

You can also use hobbs switches in the automatic's governor pressure port to control overdrive and lockup.

Well, phuck...

I had already swapped everything and left when you posted that white knight...

I guess I could go back down there and swap tail housings on the transfer cases... Won't have time to go for a few weeks though... Is there any other options?

Is that an ABS sensor going into the top of my d80 then?

Thanks and sorry for the ignorance....

Yeah. You might be able to use that for the speedometer, I'm not sure if they are the same or not. On the 94-97s the speedometer was in the tail housing and the ABS in the rear end, but in 98 both ABS and speed came off of the sensor in the rear end. I don't know if the computer programming is the same or if it changed for the new speedo sensor

Buy a GPS and stick it to your windshield! That is an easy fix for a spedo :Cheer:

Probably what I'll end up doing. But if there is an easy fix, I was going to do it!
