Another first place hook, broke rear driveshaft to boot!

Went back on the road yesterday with our new 3 week old baby after being off the road for 5 weeks.

Mazomanie WI hook September 9th. Hot Diesel Class.
Track wasn't the best, some sections were soft, some hard, so I was constantly locking and unlocking to keep the wheelspeed up and stay on top of the charger.
Broke the rear driveshaft, which surprised me as it is built fairly stout, 4" tubing .180 thick. It broke right at the welds.

Why's that? Its fully functional, driveshaft isn't supposed to break there! The u-joint is supposed to let loose.

Yep, the truck spun the whole time. The 2 top guys (me and another dodge) started out 50 feet back from the rest of the class so we'd have room to run :evil
