I have found a truck to buy that supposedly pukes coolant out the overflow once it heats up. What are some causes and how much do you think it would take to fix it? Any common problems with a 8.2L Detroit that I should know about? Could be as simple as a thermostat couldn't it? It is in a GMC 7000 truck.

Thanks for any info!

There are turds for power, but sound good at about 3500 rpms. We have one in our service bus. It runs well as far as reliablilty. It might be the headgaskets I think they are a common problem.

Just as long as it is a head something problem I can probably afford to have it fixed and buy the truck for a decent dollar. Truck has air and one guy told me he has seen engines torn all the way down for them to figure out it was the air compressor. That would be nice.

Well, I bought it for $2500 and spent $2300 getting a head gasket put on the passenger side. Runs good though and works great. No air leaks either which amazed me.
