Just wondering if anyone has any info on the Hamilton cylinder head or the rumor about Indy Cylinder Head having something in the works.

All talk and no action, the talk has been going on for years just because the current heads suck for high end guys.

A little birdie that is also working to have them done told me a few weeks ago. It could be a year from now before its done. Actually changing some things from the design. Cost looks to be around $14,000 for this particular one.

Why i was asking is that this weekend i was hogging the hell out of my cylinder head and i found the limit. I poked through on my senond to last exhaust bowl. I had 10 hours in at that point. Had finished all the intake bowls and was on my second to last exhaust bowl. There is not a hole but it got hot and sunk in. the thin spot is about .250 round.
So anyway i am looking for some interesting ideas on how i can save this thing. I see that there are ways to repair cast so cant a guy not hog out the port to the size and shape you want then possibly add in material to make the port. Also could a guy fill the coolant passages and then go hog wild on the porting. If the truck was only used for racing at the drag strip would you be able to get away with no coolant to the head.
I am in to trying anything, my rig is just used for play and i have all winter to solve this one.

It be tuff to spend 14k on a little 5.9 head when you can get a complete one for a larger IH 466 engine. But as it will forever be Supply and Demand wins.

actually you can preheat the head with a torch then braze the area to fill the indent as wel las build up the surroundin area
However - in a diesel motor dotn expect it to last too long with the extrem temps

14k Screw That!

X2, that's insane, if anyone is stupid enough to pay that for a cylinder head, they deserve the financial raping. For that price you could buy almost 3 sets of aluminum Brodix BBC heads.

Ya but for the mod guys. The extra air is needed. Not like they are going to be legal for any other class as far as competition goes anyhow. Maybe Zack has something else priced. But these things won't be for a street truck. THAT would be a waste of money.

We will not be competing with the 14k heads. Ours will be a bolt on upgrade for the daily driver. They will cost less than a ported head with a side-flow intake now. I hear a lot of guys spending 3500-5000 right now. The first 10 units on a pre-release will be a bit more and will be offered to competition minded guys. We are working as fast as we can but have hit a few hurdles. Just going to take a bit of time that's all. This will be all I will be working on this winter, well that and a wedding.

1st congrats on the wedding. 2nd are the heads going to come assembled with your retainers, springs, and valves? or are you just selling the head?

So is this head going to flow a bunch more air than a ported and polished head? I just don't see how these things can be worth it unless the entire head costs less than a head, resurface, and port and polish job of a stock head. What are the advantages? Is it necessary AT ALL on a street truck?
