any news on P1693?

Ive read up on P1693 a few times....is there a solution or an explanation yet? The truck in question in my case is a 2000 5spd, intake, exhaust, hot rod vp, electronics stock at the moment but has had Quad stuff on the truck off and on. Truck says 1693 and has no top end power...like my stock 12valve could beat this truck in a race from 70-90mph.

any help/suggestions would be appreciated

1693 shouldnt affect the top end or any end. It is just part of having a box on a 24v. The code only means it has a code stored in the ECM. Any other codes on it?

It is a companion code from everything I've read.

Means you may have another code stored. If you think the truck isn't running right, I would have the codes pulled with an actual scanner.

It can mean lots of things, my 01 had a 1693 code all the time, i had it pulled by the stealership and it came up engine temp too hot too long or something like that, but it came back then i totaled it!
