I have a 2005 Cat 247B2 skidsteer. Good machine so far (other than trying to start that damn Perkins engine in the cold) My question is this, The grease zircs on the back (close to the drive wheel) on both sides will not accept grease, so of course I changed the zirc, still wont accept grease. So I took the zircs out, and it is just a solid bunch of gook in there. I started spraying brake clean and penetrating oil in there. Is it hard to get this part off? Or is there another trick I can try?

Thanks in advance

Kevin

snapon sells a grease fitting hammer, it has a reservoir for hyd oil, or atf. when you hammer it it injects the oil and free's up just about any fitting.

never failed me yet.

the kit I have has either option, but I'd thread the NPT part in seeing that the zirc's are fine.

Google "clogged grease fitting tool" pulls up several types, we use one that sets directly on the zirc to clean out Trackhoe pins.
