Anyone done 12v CNG Conversions?

with all the hoopla about CNG's much lower cost to operate. Has anyone successfully done and lived with using CNG in their 12v Cummins?

if so, what's the best kit to use?
what $$ gains can one expect?
what disadvantages could one run into?

thanks in advance...

Cummins made a cng 12 valve. I don't know the horsepower ratings- actually never even seen one. I've seen parts on eBay.
I think member Forrest Nearing has worked on them. Might pm him.

I've seen one in a bus. It was already swoled. We tore it down out of curiosity. Uses different pistons. The conversion wouldn't be as simple as one would hope.

I have seen one non runner and at unoh they have a running one. If you wanted to do a bigas system I would say to go at it. If dedicated I would walk away from it personally.

I am working on a bigas system for a 4bt right now.

thanks folks .. CNG only will not work. range is too short, conversion costs way too high.

reports are trickling in using 75/25% diesel .. using diesel primarily to ignite mixture. some are using 90/10% diesel.

here's a conversion done on VW TDI ... would like feedback from folks that's done this on a 12v cummins... VW TDI on CNG - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

kit prices are very reasonable about $500-$700 without tank
used CNG tanks are available for reasonable prices, if one digs

these folks offer kits for about $600 with tech support.
