Anyone got a 12cm housing I can try?

Since it seems relatively simple to swap, does anyone have a 12 cm exhaust housing that they wouldn't mind me putting on my turbo and trying out for a week or two? I have a II PS 62/65/14 with the HX/40 style outlet (I don't now if there are any other options, but that is what I have). I'm trying to reduce the lag while loaded heavy but I'm anxious to see how it cools in comparison to the 14.

lag? what sticks you running? I had very little if any lag when I ran that charger with my Mach 4's, and I loaded Very heavy a few times.
 
It is a touch laggy bobtail, but really bad when loaded between #17-25K GCVW. I'm running a brand new set of DDP 100's, brand new IP from MWFI, reman ECM, etc. I've replaced about all there is to replace. It just smokes really bad in the summer and I'm trying to clean up the exhaust without sacrificin' too much power. I'm assuming speeding up the turbo will reduce the low boost smoke by spinnin' up faster. I'm just worried how it will cool compared to the 14 but I want to "try before I buy". I'd be willing to swap someone for a while and let them use mine if they want to try a 14 out. In the end, if both parties are happy, we can just swap and call it good........but if you are a jackass, not honest, a scammer, or just plain mean, don't offer. I only want to deal with honest folks.

Brand new? Can you say the pump and injectors are brand new if they are over a year old?:stab:
 
What programmer/fuel module are you running?

I haven't run a 12 with a 65, but I'm running one with a 68. It might help spool down low, but I would hazard a guess and say at least 100 degrees hotter.
 
I will relate to what Jory is talking about. It just seems under 2000RPM with a heavy load the 24V VP trucks are just shy of having the charger lit. A cam would probably take care of that. I ran a 62/12 with a set of 120HP extrude hones and it towed pretty well, still had to watch the 6th gear under 2000.

Yes-n-No. I was merely trying to portray that the thing drives the same with all new crap because I've had to replace most all of it. I didn't want to start a 78 post thread about try the APPS calibration, try a new MAP sensor, your IP is chit........I simply asked if anyone had a freakin' 12 cm housing I could try. Dammit, I've tried everything under the moon for the last two years shy of ditchin' the Edge which I like. I just need a tad more boost or a tad smaller tires to light the turbo about 200 rpms quicker so I don't smoke out the whole highway, burn a lot of fuel, or lug it for a mile up a long hill. It runs just a tad shy of what I want, it is dang close, but I need just a little sumpin' to get me a tad better spool.

No, I don't have the stocker. I sold it to Ben for $200. I'm running to the Red River with a new portable corral for my paw-n-law tomorrow on a 40 ft dual tandem. I guess I missed tryin' it out on this trip. :(

LOL, I didn't know how you Okies thought. I think the 12 would do a good thing for you. I have a 13SS on an 57mm s300. I think the 12 would be what I need also. Or the HE351 or even a HX40/35. I have the same issues with a set of Mach 2's the edge stays on 1x1. I don't smoke out the folks, but the EGT's like to get warm. Might be cheaper to just put a cam in the thing.

Might be cheaper if someone just wants a 14 and wants to trade for free. bif :Cheer: Don't get me wrong, I'd love a cam, however, there is no $$$ for this. I got a barn to build, 'member? I got all the holes drilled last night.
