anything to look for on 03's

Long story short I'm trying to get rid of the megacab. I haven't realy been happy with it since I bought it and I want to go back to a manual. Plus with driving 35,000 miles a year and diesel at 3.30+/gal I need to cut cost and cutting my payment in half would help. So, what I'm wondering is there anything to watch for on the 03. I know all the basic stuff. IIRC wasnt there two differant axle's in 03.
 
watch out for the transfer cases!
every 03 i know has had a new one put in it.
 
Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems with my Transfer Case. I use my truck to push snow so it takes kind of a beating. But so far so good. Only had problems with the lift pump (which was replaced).
 
tcase problems reallly its the same from 03 to 07 isnt it a 271 unless it has the electronic shifter then its an 271HD i have never heard any problems with them. my truck has 97k on it and cant complain and i plow snow too the only thing ive replaced is axle ujoint on left side
 
No problems with mine. I've flogged it pretty good. 4wd launch at 25 psi boost. Large hits of NOS.
 
it must be a TX thing then haha.
because i know of 7 that had it
replaced.
