apps as tps for pcs

could an apps from a 2001 24v be wired to be used as a tps for a pcs controller? im not a fan of the tps because the notch that is spun by the throttle shaft is substantially larger than the throttle shaft and the idle tps voltage can vary depending on how quickly you let up off the pedal. id like a more precise throttle position reading for more precise shifts.
 
I don't see why not. One of the threads on the part from back in TDR days had a breakdown of the circuit and the functionality.

glad to see theres some knowledge about this. this is a ppumped 24v engine and no ecm is involved. do I need to have everything else wired up as well or will it function with just ground, 5v, and signal hooked up? all that other stuff is obsolete as its in a 2000 super duty
