Ok I was driving my 99 everyday up until 3 wks ago when I got my Jetta. Now the truck sits all week and gets drove usually once on Saturday or Sunday.
After the first week of sitting I attempted to take it for a run into town for stuff to do general maintenance. I noticed a jumpy idle while I loaded some gallons of waste oil into the truck for my trip to auto zone. Well I didn't make it much further out of the drive way before I got a check engine light and a very unresponsive throttle.
I made it to my next neightbors driveway and turned around to come back to the house. I got my cheapo OBD II scan tool and read the code "PO 0123" voltage to high. I cleared it and the truck ran fine, and I made my trip into town and actually ran around town for an hour and then back home without another problem at all.
Then the truck sat from a week ago Sunday to this past Saturday. I let my parents take it to go pickup a christmas tree, and it did not give them any problem what so ever. They were gone for several hours as well with my mother driving...she's not a lead foot or used to a big truck so I know it was babied.
Fast fowards to tonight...I come home and considering its been in the teens since Sunday I decided to start the truck tonight and let it run for a little while. IMMEDIATELY got a check engine light. Attempted to clear it with my cheapo scanner and as soon as I clear it every time it comes right back.
Is my TPS junk? Or could it possibly need adjusting because I have probed the voltage wire and adjusted the voltage to match the tag on the TPS in the past
