So i bought a used ARB for my D80 from someone on here. I finally got everything lined up to install it but I'm looking for some instructions online... haven't exactly found a D80 install instructions but I'm assuming instructions for a D60 would be about the same...
I got the old carrier out. Didn't check backlash before I pulled it out. Do i need to or can i just set it to .008-.010 with shims? Instructions said to check it before you remove, but I didn't find instructions till after I had already removed the carrier.....
Also when I talked to ARB on the phone they recommended a housing spreader for the install. I don't have one and don't feel like dropping a few hundred bucks on a spreader I might use once or twice... The old carrier came right out without issue. Do i HAVE to have the spreader to install this to put load on the bearings????
Only my 2nd time I've ever had a diff appart so I'm kind of a noob on this... first time was changing the gears on my front diff last year to match the 4.10's that came in the D80 I bought. But I had a friend helping me out that had done gears several times before.
