Or is there anything else out there for those that run their 12v's @ 4500RPM or above? Just curious how well the 60lb springs can keep the valves in check @ those RPMs.

Joe

I understand that with a big single at high RPM 60 pounders are plenty. If you are putting a big set of twins on and running higher boost you may go to something else.

Opinions vary, I'm sure.

i dont know if it has so much to do with boost,as with rpm's and cam lift.

All of them contribute, if you have 100lbs of boost trying to blow the intake valve open that could cause an issue.

The 60lb springs on my head gave me 145-150 seat pressure, plenty for what I doing and running a single or Twins at 80 psi.

I never had any issues and I ran around 60 psi of boost at 4500 rpm. All of the things add to the situation. High boost, high rpm, aggressive cam profile. Careful going to high on the springs though the pushrods seem to struggle.

Good answers, thanks guys.

On pushrods, I would think chromemoly aftermarkets would do the job.:)

Bingo !! What the 60lb means is they are 60lb on the seat heavyer than the stockers. My opinion is they are plenty for most people.
