ARP Main studs

I just put some ARP 14mm main studs in my 12 valve project. But there was a discrepancy between the instructions and the way I was taught to install studs. ARP wanted the studs to bottom out finger tight, I like to install them so they bottom out and then back them off an 1/8th of a turn. I installed them in my usual fashion, 1/8th of a turn from bottoming out, marked the studs so I can make sure they don't turn, and re-torqued three times with ARP lube. Should I have run the studs down finger tight?

Thanks, Colin

I like backed out, then your not worried about screw jacking the threads in the block.

Sorry for the hijack. Do the newer 5.9's and the 6.7's have 14mm main studs?

no they have 12mm like the storm blocks, however they have factory bedplates and the pan rails are wider and thicker
