Anybody run an ats fivestar on the street? Do you like it? Any suggestions for something better? Truck is an 03 lb7

I cant say about the ATS but seeing all the Allison's Merchant builds using his own converter, I would say its a good one. Pm him "dmaxallitech" I am sure he can give you the details.

The ATS 5-star for the Allison is terrific. Can't go wrong with it.

It's kinda surprising how well mannered it is on the street, and then you can go whoop on it sledpulling, and it doesn't mind at all.

PM me if you have any other questions.

Well the truck belongs to a friend of mine and he is not easy on the throttle. The trans is sitting on the garage floor right now. So were just trying to make sure we do everything we can to make it bullet proof.

Wow will a ppe trash the high mileage stocker just puttin my foot in it here and there?

Well a ppe and an edge juice/attitude mixed with a heavy foot killed my friends stock trans.

Thats why the dodge is a hand shaker with a sbc dd. I dont want to go that direction with the dmax. Better just leaver stock.

Stock converter will handle that kind of power?

No, you're blowing through the clutches first. As soon as you replace those with better ones and a CoPilot, you'll start blowing through the converter. Everything is kinda designed on an equal plane with the Allison (parts are well matched in terms of HP holding ability).

PPE Hot 2 requires pretty much the whole shootin' match.

Ive had mine for about 2 months now, It dose really drive like stock when just daily driving but when you put the hammer down, It performs great!!!!!
