Alright guys Ive got the money saved up to finally have my swb dually project 4 linked and do and auto conversion, I just can't make up my mind which direction to go! The truck is a 95 model.
I guess there are a few different options:
1) 47rh with manual valve body and toggle switch for lockup and overdrive?
2) 47re with some type of transmission controller just not sure what would be the best.

I already have 47re that just needs a rebuild and billet shafts, and I also have a triple disk converter for a 47re just needs to be gone through and have a new stall set for the truck.

This converter I could have changed to fit a 47rh also so thats not a big deal and I dont have hardly anything in the 47re so even though I have it I am not set on using it.

Someone give me some ideas and opinions I am all ears and if you guys know what all parts or have the conversion parts I need tv kickdown cable etc for either trans let me know. I will be using some sort of ratchet shifter as well.
Thanks guys

RH. A lot easier to deal with and like you said, lock-up and O/D on switches.

I did my auto conversion over the summer. BEST thing I have done to the truck. ANyway it was on my 97.
I did a full billet Goerend 47rh. Thing with the re, is you need to many electronics to run it.
All you need for the rh is the kickdown cable, a toggle or hobbs switch for O/D and a toggle or hobbs switch for lockup.
DONE, no fancy PITA controllers.
Youll also need an AUTO trans mount (not the rubber) but the mount, driveshaft needs to be shortened, youll need the auto brake pedal, and a shifter.
Thats about it

how many clutches are in ur torque converter

I would go with the RH. I'm in the middle of trouble shooting how to wire up an OD switch for my RE, It's not working out so well for me at the moment.

Can you use a Hobbs switch in the gov. pressure port to controll lock up at a set mph. Could also tie a toggle switch in for o/d cancel.

Well the Lockup switch is working fine. Right now the Overdrive switch won't unlock the converter when slowing to a stop.

Anybody got a tv and kickdown cable laying around?

Also if I did go with the re could i just use some sort of standalone controller to control everything or would I still need the factory controll module and wiring harness?

Brad Ponci did my 47RH conversion. B&M shifter on the floor with a button to control overdrive and a dimmer switch on the floor to control lockup. 15 left cut Goerend converter. Absolutely love it. The tranny shifts just right(all by itself) and you can override it with the shifter if you want. Being able to control lockup is like having an extra gear between 2nd and 3rd, and 3rd & overdrive. Very handy when towing or up in the hills. I would not consider a manual valve body unless it was a race only vehicle.
