Auto to 5spd Question

I got a 99' QCLB auto, the trans is getting weak and would like to replace it with a 5 or 6 speed trans. My question is, will a 5 speed trans from a 2nd gen 12 valve bolt up to my 2nd gen 24 valve? Researched this with no results.
 
Understand you'll need the bellhousing, clutch, hydraulics pedals and some other crap I'm forgetting.
 
I have found a 5 speed out of a 2nd gen 12 valve and comes with bellhousing, will it bolt up to the 24 valve? and Im aware that I will need the pedals, clutch, etc.
 
input shafts the same size? gear ratios the same? a few people have told me theyre different.

what about a 5speed from a 1st gen?
 
Input shafts are the same size, only the transmission behind the gas motor has a smaller input shaft. Gear ratio's are the same.

And I believe the 1st gens had the Getreg transmission and I believe you want to stay away from it if possible.
 
yes, 1st gens had getrag. stay with a nv4500 or nv5600 if possible.
