how hard it is to change an auto to a manuel is a 2002 cummins? what all has to be done?

ive got a 5 speed for a trade for the auto... as long as its in good shape..

cross member, drive shafts, pedals, plug tranny cooler, throttle pos sensor, cut hole in the floor, thats about all i can think of right now..

rear driveshaft should fit, just need a diff front driveshaft. Dont have to do anything with the throttle pos sensor.

The manual trans is about 3 inches longer than the auto and you have to switch either the whole transfer case or the input shaft on the transfer case. You could buy a complete kit for about 2500 includes everything trans, adapters, whole works.

ive got an 02 getting ready to start parting everything i beleive you will need including shafts 2k picked up tranny, t-case, pedels, hydrolics, shifter, and console. truck has 160k and you could eat off the underside.

best thing you could do is buy a 3/4 ton truck that is in a junk yard or something. even a 94 would work. buy the truck an take the parts as you need them. sell that truck when your done.

Pretty sure you need to swap ECM or PCM.

Pretty sure you need to swap ECM or PCM.

All you need to do is ground the park/neutral safety wire and your in business. You run it thru the clutch pedal switch.

this is true. 6th gear is weak and the syncros seem to be the same. id look for a 4500 if it were me..$.02

I'd stick with a 6. Internals are much better. $.02

6spd kit from the same company is gonna run ya about 6k I think. I haven't checked real recently

how much is a 47re tranny worth if i tried selling it with the brand new torque convertor and valve body from goerend? $2,000 or more?

If you can get ahold of odieub via PM, he usually has the "kits" to do the conversion. I have sent him some PM's before and not gotten a response though.
