Auto to Stick

I have an 05 with the 48re and have heard some people have had some serious trouble swapping to manual. I was wondering if there was anyone out there making progress or just to find a truck with the stick in it.

How much hp would the stock tranny with an upgraded tc and vb handle? Could it hold up to sticks, 62mm turbo, fass, smarty??

My personal opinion is by a truck with a stick in it or if you are dead set on putting a stick in your truck then buy a wrecked truck and pull everything out of it. Lot easier than try to but it piece by piece in my opinion.
