Axle Swap????

Can I take a Dana 80 dually (1998)and make it a single axle? I have a dana 70 single (2001) and I want to swap over the brakes and hubs to the 80 and stick it under the truck. Is this possible?

Nope, not gonna work since the brakes and hubs are different. Unless you are looking at stupid power I'd just stick the 70 under it and be done.

Bingo. And if you'd ever run into problems if you got in the crazy 1000hp area swap the shafts out for chrom-molys:

I run a dually axle under my SRW. It just has the hubs sticking out too far to use the stock hub caps.

Are you going to pull or drag your truck? If so you better get an 80.
