My boss has an original B-1 turbo he is trying to sell me. Says its one of the first ones built, cross between garret and schwitzer. Anybody else ever try one? Will it handle my tst/ez stack and 150 fireballs? He's giving me a pretty good deal on it so I'd like to get it but know if its gonna work first.
 
It should work better than your stocker. I thought the original B1 turbos were built by AutoTurboDiesel in Phoenix. I don't think they are in business anymore. But they built good turbos.
 
Turbo Auto Diesel used to build the b-1's. My old ksb-1 has over a 120k on it and it's been on 3 trucks and it's still tight as a drum and running hard. Those turbos are hard to break.
 
TAD is still in business. Last time I talked to Ken he told me that the big money for him is just the normal rebuilding etc. The thing that pisses me off the most is how he is so hush hush about specs like Trapper said. He built my 913 pump and I could not get any specs. Oh it flows a lot he said. Major PITA if you ask me.

Apparently someone at scheid rebuilt this charger once. Trying to get some specs out of him before I buy. He says it will handle all the fuel I am looking at and then some.
 
Hey Josh long time no see.
But the B-1 is a great turbo. It's a s300 I thought, but they do have there limits. I have heard of people melting them down, but they were running them way out of there limits.
