What are ya'll running? mine chit the bed tonight and I need some... I wanted to see if there is a different group size that will work/fit in stock locations with a higher cca or reserve capacity

When mine go south I will be purchasing Optima yellow tops. I ran a single yellow top in my Z71 and had good service from it. I could actually listen to the radio for longer than 5 minutes with out the truck running.

My next set will be Exide PX31925C. Group 31 925CCA. I can get them at work for about $75 so thats hard to beat. The group 31 batteries probably won't fit without modification to the box, but I'll just cut part of the box off or make a new box. Actually I might go to just one battery since these are big and its not a dailly driver. Sits in the barn from October to April anyway.

FYI these measure 14" long, same width as regular batteries.

hmmm.... might have to look into 31's...I have got about 4yrs out of these, but just want to get good ones

I run a duralast gold in my gasser, and will be running them once I get my conversion done. It's hard to beat their warranty, and they are available with pretty high CCA at a reasonable price

I just cut my stock box to accept the longer battery. Took aout 10min with ao box cutter and dikes. Its also taller, so I just did away with the hold down.

I only run 1 battery.

2002, 2 Optima red tops. No issues. (Only been in the truck for 1 year though.)
1994 drag truck, 1 optima out of a jeep liberty crd located in the box, starts better than 2 proper sized walmart batteries ever did.
1996 puller, 1 red top optima no issues

I just picked up 2 powervolt ( rebadged interstates) 31 group size batts.... 1010 CCA a piece at only $81.99 a pop.... just gotta figure out my hold downs...

Had to modify hold downs..... still need 2 bolts and little clippy thingys...

you should put that back on, movement and the battery banging around kills them.

i have had bad luck with napa batterys in mine. atleast they will warrenty them so far
