A mechanic friend of mine suggested this BD product because when I'm hualing heavy with my 99 it doesn't downshift until 1300-1400rpm pulling hills, but then it goes to 3rd & unlocks the TC which slams 2700-2800 RPM. He says the bd module locks the TC in 3rd & 4th, leaves it locked if the trans downshifts to 3rd, & unlocks the TC @ 35 mph.

Only problem is that little bugger is $300!

Is there any other similar products out there a little less expensive? Please don't say install a lock up switch because I don't want to have to remember to unlock it all the time I love the fact that I can just get in this truck drop it in D & go!
Thanks

i don't like them torc loc things i put one on a truck because the customer insisted on having one it ended up twisting off the end of the torque converter were the pump drive is ! i say just put a lockup switch on ! just my 2 cents worth !

ats and suncoast both make em

Checked them out, and TS makes one too but they are all $300-400+ and I'm not spending that kinda coin on it. Also figured out today that my kick down cable is loose which is causing some of my issue, I'm going to address that then maybe do lock switch setup on CF which unlocks the TC when you hit the brakes.

Thanks for the info guys.

Don't waste your money on the ats one, it never worked properly for my truck mark.

Thanks 'Mo! Planning on just doing the traditional lock up switch now that I've thought about it more. Only plan on using it when towing my puller to keep it from unlocking when dropping from 4th to 3rd.
