BD RAD needed?

I'm currently running a BD RAD on my truck to help with the factory defueling coming off the line and on the 1-2 shift. If I'm correct I can get rid of this thing after going to a p-pump since the computer will no longer be able to pull fuel from the VP or does the BD RAD take care of something else as well?
