ok i need some info here... im wanting an X monitor and found a good deal on one where i basically trade my gauges for it. the snag ive hit is that its for a VP truck. it gets its trans temp reading from the internal sensor. it taps the wire on the PCM connector. my question is this.. does the 47rh and 47re temp sensors send different voltages? im trying to see if there is a way i can get this to work.

i would think it would work on your truck but i could be wrong. On a side note are their any other monitors like this out there available where its just a monitor with no power adders.

Don't know for sure, I had one for my 94 and I had to put in a sensor for it. Did not use the OEM. So my guess is something is different.

i emailed pat at BD and told him what i wanted and he said everything would work fine but the trans temp cause they pick it up at the PCM. i assume thats because its for the newer truck. i just want to know if the voltage is the same. if it is i figure i can tap into the factory sensor wire and get it to work.

I think there are certain revision levels that can be changed or such. The guy that bought mine wanted to use it on a new truck, and said that is what BD told him.

zstroken...so yours was for a 12v with an RH and a guy hooked it up on a RE truck?

yoshi.. bullydog had that GT tuner thing. it can be used as guages and a tuner if ya want. maybe you can hook it up as just the guages.

yea im p pumping my truck and im looking for just a display and was just wondering whats all availabe out there

12V RE and I think he hooked it up in an 24V RE.

oh maybe thats why it worked. both RE's. mine's an RH. whats why i was hoping someone who knew what the voltages on both were. if they are the same voltages coming from the sensor to the PCM im sure i can figure out a way to make it work.

the later(2000 ish+) RE's have a different sensor than the older ones. Get ahold of someone at BD.

well this isnt the first time ive said this but i dont know the 12v very well yet. do they have the pcm down on the side of the block like the 24v?

95ram... did you have to do anything special to get the trans temp to work?

That isn't the PCM...PCM is over by the air filter on the firewall

I thought you could set the X-monitor to see different options...I know mine you can, but I have the universal model. I can enter a programming mode, and set it for tranny temp, fuel pressure, EGT, boost, whether it's a ford, GM, Dodge...a few options.
