Bdtd works smarty won't

I was trying to put my smarty on my truck after I took it off to download TNT it said comm time out and never would download so I called up a buddy and got his bdtd and first time it worked and and my smarty went on his truck with no problem anybody have an idea of what's wrong

Maybe your batts are not charged? Did you try it a few times with the Smarty??

Do you have anything plugged into the cig lighter?

the 05 may need the abs fuese and fuel pump relay pulled. the 05 is strange the abs wants to communicate over the buss while smarty want to download.

If you have a faa pull that fuse too, too much current draw
