I used to post on here quite often couple years ago, been off the scene for awhile. Just wondering what new developments are out there for the 24valve?

When I left the monster vp just came out and the average guy couldn't get one. Also there was some new box that replaced the smarty/comp box stack.

My truck has eaten 4 transmissions, original, then transfer case cause massive failure at 100mph, then a couple intermediate shafts...

My truck is nothin fancy, home built with all bolt ons.
S300/S400 twins, HRVP, FASS, 150 injectors, custom trans (mostly pieces of my other broken ones put together). smarty comp stack.

STOCK TOP END and internals, been seeing 60psi+ for awhile now 15000miles or so. The only problem seems to be lots of blow by. Didn't even retorque the stock head bolts!! Also 400,000 miles on the truck, guess I got a good one.

Got the stuff to redo the top end (o-rings, springs, cam, etc) now, just wondering what else is out there?? Any custom head porting and intake manifolds out there that's actually worth it? I threw the intake heater grid away,

Going to upgrade the exhaust from downpipe back want to make it 5inch dp to 6 exhaust to 8 mitre cut stacks.

The truck was knockin on 12s with a low 13second quarter before I broke the transmission AGAIN! I am not wanting more fuel really, but I want to maximize what I got. Going to put the truck on a diet when I get it back, backseat, rear bumber, hitch, spare tire, etc going in the garbage. Just wondering what everyone else has been doing lately with their vp trucks....

Monster VP's are publicly available now. 851 hp has been made with one on fuel only.

1060hp with nitrous has been made with a monster as well.

The quadzilla Adrenaline came out and swept the market.

:bang

Edge Drag comp still is the horsepower record holder.

I still haven't broken 500hp. LOL

Not much has changed. More offering for cams and springs but otherwise it's been about the same. Now as far as the CR's go that's a different story.

Nothin, I tied a rag around the tube where it was dripping on the front diff. I wipe it off every run and that's that. Also tied some diapers under it to make sure nothing dripped on the track. I will be putting in a catch can in before I take it to the track again. It is starting to get worse, now I can pretty much undercoat my truck with top speed runs. That is why I will tearing it down pretty quick here to have a look inside. The last run I made, I blew the oil cap off the valve cover. Didn't get another run sheared the intermediate shaft on the next pass.

Sounds like you have a lot of pressure in there. Try a 12v tappet cover and maybe but some breathers in the valve cover.

If you take off the oil cap while it's running, can you feel a heavy "pulse" if you stick your hand over it?

400,000 miles, you are nearing rebuild time my friend. Sounds like its still running decent though, should be able to get by with rings & bearings.
