I Know This Has Been Over 100 Times. But I Keep Seeing Different Opinions And Suggestions. Hands Down Best Combo For My Truck......

Should I Just Buy Smarty And Wait To Have Tnt/r Update??????

Or Smarty W/tst Or Smarty W/mp8 Or Dr.p

Now Im Seeing Guys Running Smarty/tst/ez Or With Dr.p.

Does It Differ Between Actual Trucks Themselves. I Know Setups Make The Difference.

Best stack is buy an 05.LOL

Seriously though...the 03 ECM's suck. Smarty with Dr. P or mp8 runs strong.
But you can pick up a little more PW adding a TST.

smarty and tst make good power but tst tears up a lot of crap and i am running just the smarty with edge ez for pressure for most of the good drivin smarty and tst is good for dynoin

Ya I had the TST and really thought it was a pain to deal with. So I had seen alot of guys running Smarty/Mp8 and it seemed to be a much more user friendly stack. But after I sold my TST it seemed more and more 03-04 trucks were runnin the TST again. I dont know which way to go. I guess I will just see what people post up.

Thats what I am starting to think. I want a 6spd truck anyways.

Smarty Tnt/R, Tst on lightly ex. 3,0, and a pressure box seems to be the trick. That's the best out of what I've ran personally. I have noticed with large injectors, the tst has lost some of it's edge, guessing to the added duration, on an already large Injector.

I think that the question that most people have forgotten to ask here, is where do you want to go? Up to around 650 hp, you have lots of options... after that, pretty much the best is smarty Dr P. From my experience if you want more timing than what the smarty can give you, you have a death wish on your engine.

I have most combos, and have been through the whole power range with a 03.. so just let me know where you want to go, and i will help you out to the best of my abilities

The Smarty will give you the low end grunt you need, but tends to peter out on the top end, even with the TNT/R 4000RPM program.

To make up for that, you run the TST, minimal pressure, choose either TST or Smarty Timing, and increase the duration of the injectors to get the volume you need to make the power you want.

My plans eventually would be sps66 turbo, decent single pump and injectors to match. I really want to pull in the 2.6 class here locally. Im going to be swaping my auto for 6spd soon. The truck is being built for puller/daily driver.

As for HP numbers? Maybe in the low 700 high 600 range. If that is possible with the set up I want to go with.

You know what u do with a 800hp cr. U drive it on the street be sure to get u a good dual disc if its a old finger type I know a place to get it rebuilt for a lot less than the major guys for half the price just got my southbend rebuilt and only out $100. Lol.

I think Source has a couple records with their 03 as well. I would look into a hybrid turbo from E.D. or a few other turbo guys on here. Beans has a their Whiplash turbo out too.

I would have to disagree.

Yes you can make big power with an 03-04 if you put stupid big stix in them, but does that fix the ECM?

Feel free to give your input as to how to make them run otherwise.

Ok whats wrong with the 03 EC? How are "stupid big stix" compensating for a "sucky" ECM? This is the first ive heard of the 03 ECM being crappy.

I always thought the 03 ecm was the best since every one else runnin new trucks are usually tryin to turn off injection events.

I'll put my "sucky" ECM against later trucks any day. I'd say an 05 is worse.... What?!?!? no overdrive off? Wow, that was a good idea. Also, i can street my studiply huge injectors (they are pretty big though) so easily as compared to the same hp rating for an 04.5+.

Don't worry man, stay with the 03. When you are making big power, then let people tell you that later 5.9s are sooooo much better. Our 1000hp+ 03 trucks could go on any cruise or trip and not have to change one part to make it more streetable.

:thankyou2:
