Is there a manifold that I don't have to grind on once flipped for twins? My ATS I had to take quite a bit of metal off AND use a 1/2" spacer just to get a 64 to barely clear the manifold.

Now going with a larger framed charger I am going to need a new manifold that has more clearance.

pic is before I had grinded off 1/2" of meat on the manifold with 64mm charger

What twin kit are you using? most i have seen have not had to do any grinding on their ATS and i believe it is the same angle and profile on the HTT

most I have seen have to do grinding on the ATS. The HTT is smaller in OD and is not the same.

Both of my twin kits did not need grinding to fit. One was home built and one was a Schieds kit. They both did have a 1/2 spacer that was used which was the mounting plate for the bottom turbo. They used the manifold collector and also had support bolts at the back of the manifold too. You guys must be talking about some other brand of twins. Tim

I made my own set. It was a 64/14 & S480
even with a 1/2" spacer the compressor housing would hit the exhaust manifold first.

what top turbo?

both trucks I've had with twins and an ATS manifold needed some grinding on the manifold. both had a 1/2" spacer between the manifold and the top turbo

Allways had to add 1/2 spacer and grind on the twins Ive been around with ATS. HTT is very close to the same, I would guess you would have to do some grinding there as well.

How important is it to use a T-4 manifold with a T-4 charger? Right now I just use an adapter...but when putting the new twins on I was thinking of getting the new bigfoot manifold.

old school the homade set was a 35/40 hybrid over hx60. Schieds was a 40 over s400 with a tial wastegate welded into the manifold. That was probably the differance as i give up on twins before i got into the s300 top turbos. Tim

How about a SS manifold? I have a guy near by that makes them they are freaking awesome. One trip on Floor Its dyno we gained 16hp, and 12psi of drive pressure. I dont run twins but the guy makes them what ever you want. Drop me a PM ill get him # for you. Also if your goin to be in Bowling Green ill have one there you can look at.

Hooker, you going to bring my girl to TS ;)

9 Lives here is your pic, a stock manifold verses a T-4 foot version. Thanks to E.D. and there gates I will never buy another T-3 version.
