So all you diesel pullers - whats the best and or widest street tire in a 16" or 17" rim size for truck pulling

In my gasser days we liked the BFG all terrains but they dont hook under my diesel

thanx

BFG All terrains are prolly the most widely used, mud terrains bite too hard on the good clay pulling tracks of the mid west and cause lots-o-carnage.

Quite a few are converting to the TrXus STS's tho now.

Yep, up here a AT does just as good as a MT. We have a bit.... a lot of clay at a lot of tracks up in the N IL area. I saw a Dodge Cummins in the open class bust his transfer case or front end. Went BOOM! and a bit of smoke, he had MT's. The other Dodge Cummins guy had AT's and did a FP. Might just be the truck BUT it did say a little.

We could never hook the BFG all terrains either but before we ran duals in ours we really liked about a 33 x 12.50 super swamper Trxus they really hooked good on alot of different types of tracks. We still use them for are front tires

it will vary from state to state, track to track, heck from the northern part of the state to the southern, sometimes as close as tracks on each side of the county......

I thought the STS's would bite extremly hard. They look like they would hook worse then a MT. I run Summit mud dawgs right now. Last year I only pulled twice with about 90 percent tread on them but this year will have 12+ hooks on the truck and will be running the same MT's just with 50 percent tread. It depends on the truck also, there was a 3rd gen around here that could never give off the line with his MT's because he was bouncing really bad.
