I was thinking about gettin a BHAF for my 99', just wondering if its worth messing with or if I should just get a full intake. I know a lot of guys run these..

I like mine because i dont like the high flow filters in the dusty enviroment that i am in. but the price of one i bought the other day was 70 bucks:rules: anybody get them cheaper. i checked oreily's and napa same price!

i would say NO!! i like my afe filter, but the nanofibers are nice also!! just get something you can clean then you won't have to worry about buying another filter ever!!

You can't beat it for the money. Cheapest place to buy is fleetfilter.com or sometimes napa has them on sale. If you drive in a lot of dust I might suggest an outerwear. Otherwise I've seen many people get 50k+ out of them. Aftermarket intakes are way overpriced IMO.

You can beat it for the money... what's a BHAF cost? $40? 50k miles?

buy a nice conical AFE or something for $60-70, get better flow, better sound, and you can clean/reuse it untill you sell the truck and put it on another turck. or sell it to some kid for $40 or whatever :)

Well I was wondering if it adds power or helps mileage, lowers egts or anything else helpful...mostly looking for power...

When I first put the BHAF on my truck it was mostly stock, noticed a touch bit better response but that was about it. When I went from a BHAF to an AFE stage one with the PG 7 filter I noticed a BIG difference in throttle response and it seemed a bit stronger as well. Now keep in mind this was going from a dirty BHAF to a brand new AFE.

ive had 2 bhaf's in 120k mi im about due for another one. but for 30 bucks i cant complain........i live on a farm so a k&n or what ever is out of the quetion i dont want to clean and oil my dang intake every week. im not running a outerwears but i have this stuff that came in a roll that looks just like the stuff the outerwears are made out of so i zip tied it around the bhaf.

Used to get mine from fleetfiler.com too. My short box runs a amsoil cone now. Like the cleanability of it, but I do live in town. If I would move back out into the country I would think about going back to a BHAF and a prefilter.
