I have a bd super b special turbo on my 99 and I'm thinking of upgrading it to a bigger turbo. My question is if I were to put it on my stock 01 what will it do. Would it be a :badidea:? I like to tinker around sometimes even if I don't know what I'm doing.

Probably wouldn't notice anymore power since it will have stock fueling, but the lag would probably suck. Though, put a wire tap box and a upgraded lift pump(FASS/Airdog) on it and it would be a blast I'm sure. Unless its an auto, then which you would need a new tranny soon, lol.

Bone stock?

I think it would be a dog..

That said, I drive a manual transmission truck.. and I hate, HATE driving the thing without the smarty. No low fuel blows. In an automatic, it might be better. I would at least get a cheapo edge EZ or a used smarty...

So far all that is done is a different air filter and exhaust. I do have a smarty already but it does not like it right now since my I.P. is bad. Soon here I will be putting on a S.O. pump and a fass pump to go with it. There will be more eventually done but that will be later on. I just didnt know how the truck would act with turbo since I have alot to learn yet.

when i had my 66/71/14 i had to run around on stock injectors for a while, i turned the edge off. i LITERALLY could not make 10psi. it would hover around 7-8 psi with my foot to the floor.

So that is with the edge off. Was there any difference with the edge on?

So if I'm thinking correctly with the bigger turbo you need more fuel which would mean bigger injectors. But basically the bigger injectors create more heat which the turbo needs to lite maybe? Now for instance if you were to unplug map sensor for more fueling would that actually do anything. I'm just curious what that would do. Not that I plan on unplugging the sensor and driving around because that would be stupid. Just a quick unplug and tryout then plug back in.

yeah, itd make 35psi or so with the edge on level 6. But thats not stock now is it LOL

Well I was under the impression that if the map was unplugged that it fuels at 100% at all times which is hard on the I.P.

Just because I thought of this could I possibly use the super b special with my stock turbo for a twin setup?
