Second run tonight, coming off the line at about 15psi, ker-powww, there went my output shaft. Damn, it was running good too. When I had the tranny built, I went billet input, but I wasn't too concerned about the output shaft. Now that I have to replace it, I'm not sure which way to go. How many are running billet outputs on the 47rh? How many of you broken the standard output?

I broke a stock one a while back. Went back with another stocker until I get the funds for a billet shaft.

I'm running a billet output shaft in my 47rh. I did it at the same time as the billet input and intermediate. It's holding up good but I know people who break outputs quite often and just put stockers back in. It doesn't hurt the trans and they are super cheap.

I'd almost rather have a stock output if everything else is billet, just for the simple fact that your always going to find the weakest link. I'd rather break an output than an input or intermediate. Unless your in a hp range where you will definitely keep breaking them.

That was on my second run after I switched to 5x18s, so I'm not sure if this is going to be an issue or not. Trans is still under warranty, so I'm hoping that Dave will just send me another one.

I ran a billet output and never broke it. When I did change over to a 2wd output I did notice that the 4wd billet did twist and fracture. But never let loose.
