Hey y'all I'm new to compD I have a problem they only reputable tranny shop around is floor it diesel but if any of you have dealt with john before know he's hard to get ahold of I was really wanting to get some Opie shafts but they only contact he has on his site is an email and its full I was wondering if anyone has his phone number or know anyone around that can get shafts at a decent price no junk China crap either I'm not rich and can't afford to replace my tranny cuz I put cheap stuff in it my HP goals are 550 to 600 I will be pulling heavy cruisers out of the water and towing heavy hay trailers no boosted launches or sled pulling if anyone can help that would be awesome thanks guys

I believe Source Automotive is the distributor for Opies shafts.

Give Lavon @ Firepunk a call after Christmas is over. He can get you pretty much anything you want and is really good to work with. 614 348 4277 is his number.

Give Dave Goerend a call he has everything you'll need (563-778- 2719). Merry Christmas. Thanks Steve B.

TCS shafts seem to hold up really well In my experience. With that said, I have shafts from Opie in my truck, and they out lived a Dana 60 on a boosted launch. I got them through Rip at Source Automotive. Good guy good pricing, either way you should be good to go.

Thanks guys for the help ya I tried to get ahold of Opie and nothing so this info helps also I'm.having it rebuild by a pretty good tranny Guy that's always built my hot rod tranny and mud truck trannys mostly th400 and 700r4 but I just curious ud there is anything inside my 47re that is a must need to put in to keep it together during long hauls and pulling all the time heavy

Source automotive wants 850 for an input and almost 900 for an output holy sh*t I thought opies and TVs are round 650 r sumn am I wrong or is source raping people I'm just a reg blue collar Guy no way can I justify 900 for a shaft I ain't doing sled pulling or boosted launches just running round 550 600 turned all the way up which wont be often just being towing 10k+ alot that's all any help here would b greatly appreciated

Damn that hurts lol well how bad considering what I'm using my truck for do I need a billet output?

I will have my CB setup from john over at floor it diesel he does excellent work I don't don't do boosted launches or sled pull so I was hoping I would b fine without a billet output and beans I just tried to call ya I need a price on a billet input 47re and what It would be to ship to kc Kansas?

Also guys what else would u recommend I make sure I get in my tranny to keep it together on constant heavy and long towing ?

Put a billet input in it, good triple disk, good VB. Billet output maybe. I would not put a billet intermediate in a towing

I did some research I'm putting a billet input from tcs a 4.2:1 ratio apply lever 5 disk front drum 5 pinion steel front gear 6 pinion steel o/d gear 6 pinion rear gear Kevlar intermediate band green raysbetos clutches sonnax 2nd servo kit sonnax accumulator sonnax rear gear cover kit magazine hytec double deep pan the CB is gunna be custom built yo my trucks power from john at floor it diesel billet super single disk converter and gunna be running the amsoil full synthetic does that sound like I got everything or am I missing anything guys any help would be greatly appreciated don't wanna do this over again cuz I missed something

Ditch the billet super single, don't see why you need a 5 disk front drum when your still running a single. I would stay with OEM clutches and steels.
Also not a big fan of the billet 2nd gear kit. The quad ring accumulator is a nice piece and sometimes the plastics do fail.

I didn't think John was doing transmissions anymore?
