It's very difficult to find a plater to plate an exhaust tip in black chrome, that has any sort of heat going to it. Black chrome does not react well to high tempratures. We did find a company that does all the black chrome for NASA and other aeronautics manufacturers, however, those companies pay more and order a lot more than we would, so they basically said "no" to black chroming for us. I still keep my eyes out though, because the demand (while small) is still there.

I believe theirs are acutally a smoked stainless steel. Again, it will turn a brown color after so many heat cycle.

IMO, if you want black stacks, paint them or have them coated at a powder or ceramic coater.

Not sure what they use, mine looked great after around a year of use, never changed color, and I'd say it had healthy dosing of heat cycles.

Can't say much more bout it, cuz that black chrome stack is out, cuz I got one of your Grand Rock chrome hoodstacks!! :evil
