Block question

I tried the search function. And it didn't show anything which is weird because I've read about the 53 block a lot. And I can't remember, if when you look on the drivers side by the power steering pump, and under the vp in the spot it just shows a series of numbers. But no 53 around there. Does that mean it's not a 53? Bc I've looked at some 99 and that 53 is there. And on my 01 all it has is a series of numbers kinda up a bit. And
No 53. But also how do I know which block it is if it doesn't have a 2
Digit casting number?

Yes its not a 53. It's still a STORM block though

Look on the passenger side. Front of the block just above the pan rail. It'll be 3-4" tall cast into the block. If it's covered in sludge obviously wipe it down a bit.

Storm also has the extra freeze plug/oil drain on the passenger side.

Exactly. Easy for the extra drain for twins.
