Block ?

Ive got a 99 with a 53block im looking to replace. What should I look for a 98.5-00 block or will a 01-02 block work also. I know the wiring harness are different but what about the bare blocks? not a complete engine swap just looking to swap everything from my cracked 53 to a new block. Found a 01 block but wasnt sure if it would work for me. Thanks

i think the blocks are the same even in the 3rd gen cr. it's the cranks with the reluctor rings that change.

someone else will chime in to confirm or refute.

Sensors are different in the 01 and 02 blocks.

98.5-02 are the same. 01-02 dont have the crank sensor but they do have the hole for it, also the crank isnt machined for it.

CR block will not work .

a 98 12v block will work as well. It also has the whole for the crank sensor
