what do you guys think works the best in pullin a solid block or airbags aired up to 100 psi ive got blocks made already that i have pulled with before but i just put on airbags too... do i still need to put the blocks in???

Blocks. Air bags still give a little with 100 psi in them. I like to know its solid:)

Anyone know if the airbags squat more than 1" with say 100psi in them? I don't think they do.

I also use my bags to raise the truck so I can install the blocks. I have two sets of blocks, one that is solid with a hitch height of 26" and one with 1" of travel for the DHRA.

They aren't too bad on the street either with 1" of travel either :evil

thanks guys i wasnt sure about that. i think ill build some longer blocks tonight

Take it from BigBadBouncer blocks are better no matter what the PSI. If you can clamp it down on a set of solid blocks even better, she won't bounce upward then.

This was great for the street, not so good for the sled pulling track later I rerplaced the shocks with huge turnbuckles then it was rock solid.

Really, how many parts have fallen of, broke, or loosened up because you "their not that bad" Heck mabye the test road should be less bumpiey, crap my spelling went right out the window. nuff typing for tonight.

Around these parts Air bags can keep one from hopping on the tough tracks.
Yes they will squat more than blocks...I would guess 2" of squat @ 100psi.
The "big" blocks can cause one to bounce on a rough/tough track. 1" of travel with blocks is usually better for the tracks where its tough out to get the tires lit up but will cost footage at the long end.

If you want to win though generally your going to have to run blocks.
Typically there are about 3 ways to do it: 1" travel, solid, and solid raised.
You can also make a set that has adjustments.

I have a set of 1.5" travel and a set that actually lifts the frame another 1".
I use the 1.5" travel dudes on rough/tar tracks and the raised on the tracks where I can easily blow the tires off at the line.

anyone got pics and places i can buy them?

I just use a 4 x 6 post that you get at a hardware store. Very cheap, easy, and they work. I just cut them down so I can have my 1" of travel. Right before I pull, I just zip tie 'em to the leaf springs. When I mount them I utilize the factory bump stops. When I'm done, I cut the ties, and throw the blocks back in my bed. No sense in sacrificing ride quality on the way to and from the pulls.

BOTH- I fill my bags to 100psi and gets my hitch point right at 26" then I made adjustable blocks that I can set anywhere I want so either all the way down and solid or 1" so I have the bags keeping it plus if they squat it cant go past 1" of travel.

what ever material costs is it and shipping, measure from bottom of frame to top pf leaf spring perch area
