Well its been a wild summer for all my 6l buddies. Most of them are going on their second set of headgaskets. I have a question for anyone....who hasnt blown their headgaskets on their 6l. Who is running studs and still puking. Im getting ready to pull my buddies Justons motor and put studs and fire rings. We are also going to deck the block. More than likely do h11 instead of arps since they didnt hold up.

I have not heard a single person that has fire ringed it and had any luck Rob. Gene even removed his ringed heads.

I wouldn't blame the ARP's for the blown gaskets. If the heads and the block weren't flat to begin with and weren't decked....that's the problem. Even
H11's ain't gonna fix crooked stuff.

We are taken my old block and getting it decked. He just had his done less than a year ago. He just doesnt want to do this again. He has a few mods. 200cc injectors, 03 turbo( had a beans) fass, no cooler and sct.

here I am ..I have rung heads..actually 2 sets..both work great ( knock on wood) dont blame the ARP's..like Rich said..if they weren't flat from the get go..

I wouldnt waste the money on H11's..I would rather them stretch the break a chunk out of the block.

also I believe that Nate (06twho50diesel) had H11's and still blew gaskets.

you're right adam. I have the H11s on my motor. But when we opened up the motor, we noticed that the Hs weren't put in correctly, as far as full TQ and all. So that may have had a little to do with it, but the studs themselves looked and seemed brand new in all ways we were able to check them.

No luck here either. Blew the stock stuff and replaced it with arp, fire rings and egr delete. Couple thousand miles later blown headgaskets and a cracked piston ring.
Now im back to stock and not doing more then mild tunes hoping itll hold together w/ the new longblock.

well rob we got to talk at bowling green this past weekend,,03 90,000 stock gaskets & headbolts, sct, fuel system, and laying down 35-38 lbs on occasion

ARP head studs, no issue with the head gasket but I do puke out of my coolant container occasionally. But I think I have another problem. My truck stays under pressure for days after it has been turned off. It doesn't bleed back down.

O-side note, when I do puke out of my coolant container, I'm not running hot. Usually happens on the freeway when I'm cruising for hours. Not on it, just cruising.

I think I can say that I have never blown a head gasket.

Truck started puking. Pulled one bolt out at a time and replaced it with ARP, puking stopped. Beat the piss out of it. Developed a squeal in the turbo, and was puffing a little white smoke. Took it in for that and after talking to the mechanic he thought I had blown head gaskets. They put in new head gaskets and a new turbo under warranty. I went to pick the truck up after they had it for two weeks and said it was fixed, paid my $100 deductible. Went out, got in my truck and started it up, now it blew white smoke more than ever on this start-up. Drove it right into the shop and showed them. Service manger couldn't believe what he was seeing. They kept it over the weekend to fix the problem. Called the next week and said they couldn't duplicate it. So I went back to get my truck. Started it up and it blew smoke like crazy. I took the mechanic and the service manager out to see it and they agreed it was happening. I pulled the egr valve out as they watched and you could see coolant flowing into the intake. I said see there, that is the problem. I took the truck and said I will fix it myself. Welded the other end of the egr cooler and problem solved. The best part, Ford sent me a check about a month later for $100, said I didn't need to pay the deductible.

So think I can say that I have never blown a head gaskets, right?

I have stock gaskets with ARP's and do not puke. I never blew the originals either, I installed the ARP's as a precautionary measure before it went out of warranty.

That's classic.

Arps and fire ringed and I am still puking. Fixing to pull the heads back off to see whats blown and go from there. Prolly thinking there just ancor weights now. All this was done within 8000 miles of studs.
